Will Your Grandchildren Know?

My 16-year old daughter Emmy sings in the Saskatoon Children’s Choir and has had two opportunities to travel within Canada for a tour with the choir.

This summer, the choir went to St. John’s, Newfoundland to participate in the Harbour Voices Festival.  Keri and I went along to watch Emmy and her fellow choristers perform, and we extended our stay in Newfoundland so that we could explore it for the first time.

The experiences we had were memorable.  From whale sightings to incredible vistas to great seafood to visits with friends, we took in as much of Newfoundland as we could.  It was all topped off by watching the Children’s Choir impress the audiences as they always do.

One of the highlights of the trip was the week we spent at a friend’s cabin on the west coast of Newfoundland.  We enjoyed some amazing time playing in the ocean, hanging out on the beach and hiking some of the difficult but rewarding trails nearby.

We will be sharing stories about this trip for years.

Stories impart wisdom. And stories get passed on.

Will yours?

What is the story of Cinderella trying to impart to the listeners?

Fight for your dreams… and do so with kindness and hard work.

Ideals we all want for our children and grandchildren.

Like money, wisdom is hard-earned.

Most people who have been successful in accumulating money believe that passing down wisdom and values to those who will be following in their footsteps is one of the most important things to pass on.

If you had to choose between passing your money OR your values to the next generations, which would you choose?

Both, right?

Fortunately, you don’t have to choose. There are ways to pass down both!

Leaving your hard-earned money AND your hard-earned wisdom is what leaving a legacy is all about.

One of the best ways to pass on your wisdom and values is to design your legacy with incentive clauses.

Another is to pass on family charitable dollars.

Another is to take an all-family trip every year where you capture your favorite family stories. The ones that contain your wisdom and values.

If your wealth plan is not passing on your money and your wisdom, find out how.
